Seasonal Color Shades

Seasonal Color Shades

True Winters typically possess cool-toned skin and hair. Their best colors tend to be vibrant yet clear hues – in keeping with their primary hue characteristic of clarity.

Pure and vibrant shades like ruby red, deep burgundy or wine, dark violets and royal purples look incredible on you. Warm browns and muddy greens clash with your cool toned complexion; stick to more vibrant and pure hues instead.

Cool

Color palettes for Cool Winter tend to be fresh and free from yellow undertones, unlike Warm Summer or Bright Winter palettes. In contrast to these seasons, Cool Winter hues tend to have deeper values with higher chroma (brightness).

Cool Winter colors include icy blues, true reds, crisp whites and deep emerald greens; however they also pair beautifully with classic neutrals such as black, tan and charcoal gray.

Avoid yellow and orange hues that can make cool complexions look sallow, such as yellows and oranges, to complement cool tones more effectively. Metallic silver instead of gold would work best with your cool tones; brown shades tend to wash out cool winter skin tones but rich chocolate shades might work for some people. Avoid any colors with muddy or olive tones as well, opting for prints with medium to high contrast instead.

Deep

Deep Winter (known by various color analysis systems as Dark Winter) symbolizes a season of clarity and calm. A walk through a forest on a cold, foggy day conjures images of cool blues and purples which define this palette. Dark Winter colors feature cool undertones while maintaining high contrast complexion that looks fresh and clean.

This palette combines winter shades with autumn hues to achieve an elegant and rich appearance, which draws out strong features and complements strong features. Some popular Deep Winter colors include black, charcoal, forest green marl, plum, burgundy deep claret deep claret deep claret lilac mulberry copper pine moss pebble gray mallard and soft gray.

While Warm Summers can wear gold, Deep Winters should stay away as it could add too much warmth to their complexions. Silver is an appropriate shade; play around with yellow hues; however, dark, muted or pastel yellows might wash out their complexions completely.

Clear

Clear Winters have high contrast and brightness, so they look best in jewel tones or classic neutral colors with high brightness levels.

Light ice blue, steel blue, frosty blue and jade green are among the cool brilliant hues that perfectly suit winter skies. Additionally they pair well with vivid hues like bright blues and purples while pink can be less than striking as well as yellow which may prove difficult given its medium contrast/chroma ratio.

Avoid soft pastel colors as these will make your skin appear faded and faded. Black, white, dark blues, and browns are ideal neutral colors to choose when selecting clothing in this color family.

Bright

As snow glistens in winter, vibrant hues reflect light with clarity and have an invigorating beauty that makes an impactful statement about both Spring’s floral influence and Fall’s cool yet striking tonal ranges.

Bright Winter calls for high-contrast neutrals that offer great depth of field, such as icy whites and grays with moderate value ranging from icy white to charcoal and deep aubergine hues. High chroma shades should be combined with these neutrals in order to maintain their powerful impact.

Bright Winters exude confidence through their bold color choices and are known for being strong leaders. However, too much flamboyance may be off-putting to some people and must be managed.

Bright Winter makeup requires clean lines and simple designs that exude sophistication. Metallic tones such as platinum, silver and white gold add modernity, while jewel-toned colors like emerald green, ruby red and amethyst add flair without overshadowing its vibrant palette. Avoid earthy tones from warmer seasons that could dull its naturally striking contrasts.
