Preparation
Step one in IDT’s Oligo Perfecting process is to ensure you have sufficient oligo for use. We offer IDT Oligo in either nanomol or micromol quantities (6.022x 1023 molecules per mole).
Use this formula to calculate how many oligonucleotide molecules you will require for your experiment:
Step two is selecting an appropriate purification option. Options vary based on oligo length and modifications; for oligos exceeding 70 bases with more than two modifications we suggest one of our 2-Step Purity packages.
After DNA synthesis is completed, its completed oligo is released from its solid support and then purified. While purification will inevitably affect final yield based on factors like coupling efficiency and coupling rate, it is then lyophilized and delivered according to your specifications and concentration requirements; you will find the concentration listed on its tube label or specification sheet along with any recommended dilutions for your application.
